By entering (the grounds of) Kasteel or Hotel Steenenburg (hereinafter referred to as: ‘Kasteel Steenenburg’) or using facilities and services operated by Kasteel Steenenburg, you accept the house rules set out in these regulations.
It is mandatory to strictly follow all regulations in these rules and the instructions given by the staff of Kasteel Steenenburg.
In these rules, 'Kasteel Steenenburg' and 'the grounds' refer to the hotel, the castle, the castle gardens, the car parks and the bicycle parking facilities.
In all cases not covered by these regulations, the management of Kasteel Steenenburg or its representative shall decide.
Upon request, anyone on the grounds of Kasteel Steenenburg may be asked to show identification.
It is not permitted to cause nuisance to (other) visitors, guests, staff or residents living near Kasteel Steenenburg. Criminal offences will be reported to the police.
Kasteel Steenenburg is entitled to deny access to the grounds to visitors, guests or dogs that it believes or fears may disturb the order, peace and/or safety on the grounds or that do not comply with these regulations, without being obliged to pay any compensation.
Kasteel Steenenburg is a smoke-free site. Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vapes, is therefore not permitted on the site. Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking areas.
Access to and exit from the Kasteel Steenenburg car park is via number plate recognition.
The use of bicycles, trikes, electric scooters, quads, Segways, golf carts and similar vehicles is not permitted on the grounds of Kasteel Steenenburg.
In the event of a fire or other emergency, you must leave the hotel via the nearest emergency exit and gather at the designated location. The lift may not be used during emergencies.
Emergency exits may only be used in the event of an emergency.
Visits to Kasteel Steenenburg are entirely at your own expense and risk.
Guests are responsible and liable for the behaviour of themselves and their guests/visitors and for any injury and/or damage caused by them to persons and/or property belonging to Kasteel Steenenburg and/or to third parties. Guests who act unlawfully towards (employees of) Kasteel Steenenburg and/or cause damage to property belonging to Kasteel Steenenburg will be held liable for this and the damage will be recovered from them.
It is prohibited on the premises to:
a. possess weapons or other objects deemed dangerous by the management of Kasteel Steenenburg.
b. use, carry or trade in narcotics, both soft and hard drugs. Violation will result in immediate and permanent expulsion from the premises.
c. Possess or set off fireworks.
d. Open flames (such as candles) or burning incense are not permitted.
Kasteel Steenenburg reserves the right to confiscate the items mentioned under a, b and c and to call in the police.
Kasteel Steenenburg accepts no liability for personal injury and/or theft, loss, misplacement or damage to property of any kind, arising during and/or as a result of a stay on the premises and/or the rental/use of the hotel room and/or other facilities, except insofar as this is the result of intent or deliberate recklessness on the part of (the management of) Kasteel Steenenburg or (one of its) employees.
Kasteel Steenenburg is not liable for consequential damage, including business damage and loss of income. Furthermore, Kasteel Steenenburg is in no way liable for damage for which compensation can be claimed under travel and/or cancellation insurance or any other insurance and/or scheme. Insofar as Kasteel Steenenburg cannot invoke the aforementioned limitations of liability, it shall be liable for a maximum of the amount paid out under the liability insurance in the case in question, supplemented by the amount of the excess.
Upon arrival, everyone must first report to reception. This also applies if your vehicle's registration number has already been registered. It is not permitted to be present in the hotel area or any of the associated facilities, such as the fitness room, without a current reservation or without reporting to reception.
Valid identification must be presented at check-in.
A booking or current reservation is personal and non-transferable to another person. Persons are not permitted to stay overnight in the hotel rooms without the presence of the main booker.
All guests staying overnight must be registered at reception.
If you wish to receive a guest during your stay, you must register this guest at the reception desk. Any additional costs, including tourist tax, breakfast, etc., must be paid in full at the time of registration.
No more persons are permitted in the hotel rooms than the hotel room allows according to the website and as registered at the reception.
The guests (including guests/visitors for the purposes of this provision) are jointly and severally liable for the orderly conduct of affairs in and around the rented hotel room or elsewhere on the grounds of Kasteel Steenenburg, the use of the hotel rooms and facilities and the equipment and inventory therein. In addition, guests are always jointly and severally liable for damage caused by breakage and/or loss and/or damage to inventory and/or the hotel room. Any damage must be reported immediately by the guest to the reception of Kasteel Steenenburg and compensated immediately on the spot, unless the guest can demonstrate that the damage was not caused by himself or his guests/visitors.
Use of the safe in the hotel room is entirely at your own risk.
Pets are not allowed in the hotel rooms, the fitness room or other hotel facilities.
The hotel room must be made available for cleaning and/or maintenance services.
Confetti and other decorations for (in) the hotel room are not permitted. Please enquire at reception which decorations are permitted.
It is not permitted to store or charge devices or separate batteries (power banks) of more than 100 Wh in your hotel room. Bicycle batteries can be charged and stored safely in the designated area in the bicycle shed.
Use of the fitness room and other facilities is entirely at your own risk. There is no (physical) supervision.
Kasteel Steenenburg reserves the right to carry out necessary maintenance on the accommodation and/or other facilities during the stay or to close facilities (temporarily) during the stay without being liable for any compensation.
Without the express permission of the management of Kasteel Steenenburg, the use of sound equipment in the castle facilities and the castle garden is not permitted.
Pets are not allowed in the castle garden and castle facilities. Only in the Hofkamer (Court Room) and the adjoining terrace are dogs up to knee height allowed, provided they are kept on a leash and do not cause any nuisance. Dogs on the risk list are never allowed.
The owner of the dog is liable for the behaviour of the dog and any damage caused by the dog. The dog must remain on the floor and is not allowed to sit on furniture.
To be seated in the restaurant, please report to the restaurant entrance. If you want to be sure of a place, we recommend making a restaurant reservation in advance.
Access to the meeting rooms (on the first floor) is prohibited without the permission or instruction of staff.
The technical equipment (such as projectors, screens, conference systems) in the meeting rooms must be used with care. The main booker will be held liable for any damage to the meeting rooms or the furniture, installations, etc. therein.
Kasteel Steenenburg may make or have made image and/or sound recordings of the grounds, buildings and guests who are in or around the location. Kasteel Steenenburg and its affiliated companies are entitled to use and publish these recordings, for example for promotional purposes. Naturally, Kasteel Steenenburg and its affiliated companies will exercise the necessary care in doing so. No compensation is due to the guests depicted in the recordings for their use and publication by Kasteel Steenenburg and its affiliated companies. If you do not wish to be filmed, please avoid areas where you see a cameraman, film crew and/or photographer at work.
Without the express permission of the management of Kasteel Steenenburg, it is not permitted to make sound, photo and/or film recordings or other visual material on or above (e.g. with a drone) the grounds for commercial purposes or by commercial parties.
If, despite the efforts of the staff at Kasteel Steenenburg to make your stay as pleasant as possible, you still feel the need to submit a complaint, you can contact the reception desk 24 hours a day. We will do everything we can to resolve your complaint and/or any issues as quickly as possible.
In the event of a violation of the regulations and/or failure to follow instructions from staff, Kasteel Steenenburg reserves the right to gain access to the hotel room and/or to immediately remove you and any other guests from the premises, without any right to compensation.
Obvious printing and typesetting errors are not binding on Kasteel Steenenburg. These regulations supersede all previous publications. The invalidity and/or nullity of any of the individual provisions of these regulations and/or parts thereof does not affect the validity of the other (parts of) provisions of these regulations. Amendments and additions to the agreement and/or regulations are only valid if they have been laid down in writing. The legal relationship between the parties (and therefore also these regulations) is governed exclusively by Dutch law.
If Kasteel Steenenburg has serious grounds to suspect that a guest of a hotel room is acting in violation of the law and/or public order and/or morality, Kasteel Steenenburg is authorised to deny you access to Kasteel Steenenburg and the hotel room.
Force majeure on the part of Kasteel Steenenburg exists if the performance of the agreement is wholly or partially prevented, whether temporarily or otherwise, by circumstances beyond the control of Kasteel Steenenburg, including the threat of war, strikes (including staff strikes), blockades, fire, pandemics, floods and other disruptions or events.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the valid travel documents required for your destination. Kasteel Steenenburg accepts no liability for the consequences of not being in possession of the correct travel documents.
